Happy first Birthday Prince George! We wholeheartedly thank you for the brilliant photo ops you've been giving us ever since you've been born. Nobody in the British Royal Family can quite make faces with the chutzpah and confidence that you have.
Happily, a birthday comes with its share of gifts, but what does one give a toddler who has everything? The same things you'd want to give to your own toddler only raised up a level. He may be a Prince but he's a baby, still. Parents William and Kate have asked people to donate for charity instead of showering the Prince with gifts, but we do think the little one deserves a few presents for keeps.
So for The Prince Who Has Everything, we suggest these five gifts:
- A(nother) pet. Yes. His parents already have a beautiful dog. But it does not hurt to have more playmates, does it? A cat? A pony? Another dog? Or perhaps an owl? After all he lives in the land of the Boy Who Lived.
See. He's clearly more interested in the dog.
- A cricket bat. Because as the Indian team's emphatic win at Lord's yesterday has pointed out, England could do with a contingency plan. Or a football would do just as well. *cough*worldcup2014*cough*
Baby sure loves his day out. Give him a bat, someone.
- A toy house that looks like an 18th century castle. Because a Prince cannot just play in a normal toy house.
His own toy castle with its own toy garden. Lord. Even thinking about this is exciting.
- 4. A scrapbook with pictures of his family - his grandparents, parents when they were kids/growing up.
For there is nothing more precious than that.
- A holiday with his parents with no paparazzi around. Because even a Prince deserves at least one normal vacation.
