9 Daily Struggles of Living With an Uncommon Name

9 Daily Struggles of Living With an Uncommon Name
If you catch yourself wishing, more often than not, that your parents had just given you a single syllable name that you shared with five others in your class, then this list is for you.

1. There is a sense of dread every time you're introduced to someone new. First, tell them your name. Then repeat loudly. Then repeat s-l-o-w-l-y.

2. If you had a rupee for every time someone pronounced your name incorrectly, you could start your own bank.

3. And after everything, you will still receive an appointment letter with your name misspelled. REALLY?

4. Most people think it's okay to add alphabets wherever they wish. Please, people. Have a little self-control.

5. Your name confuses people about where you're from. Especially if you're stuck with a chatty customer care person.Yes, I AM Indian.

6. At restaurants, basically any place where they call out your name, you go along with whatever they choose to call you. As long as you give me my food, dude.

7. You almost break out in hives at the thought of filling out forms for IDs, because you know that they WILL get it wrong the first few times.

8. You feel like sending tiny hearts with cherries, extra sparkles with a bow on top to those who actually manage to get your name right the first time.

9. Your life is a big fat mess on social media because people will insist on ripping your name apart till you can barely recognize it. Can you not see my name RIGHT BESIDE MY PICTURE?
