US officials tiff with security men over access to venue
New Delhi: American officials and media today had a tiff with Indian security personnel over access to a venue for a photo op of a meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US President Barack Obama.

The incident took place at Hyderabad House when the American side wanted eight "pool" photo-journalists to be allowed inside to cover the event, sources said.

The agreement was for allowing five photo-journalists each from both the sides to cover the event but the American side insisted that all the eight "pool" members be allowed inside.

This led to heated arguments between senior US officials and Indian security personnel and White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs even threatening he would "pull out" the US President from the meeting.

Finally, security personnel gave in and Americans had the way.
