Two killed in stampede at a temple in Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh

Barabanki: Two people have been reportedly killed in a stampede at Lodheshwar temple in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Press Trust of India, the incident occurred this morning when 'kanwarias'
(devotees of Lord Shiva) broke through the queue of devotees to offer water at Lodeshwar Mahadev Temple. This led to a stampede that left two people dead, police said.

Ten people were injured in the incident and have been admitted to a hospital.

Large number of devotees had gathered at the temple for today's 'Shivratri puja'.
