Shopian case: J&K govt orders fresh post mortem
Srinagar:

Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered fresh post mortem into the Shopian murder case in which two women in the Valley were allegedly raped and killed by the security forces.

The state government had suspended officials after there were widespread protests against security forces in the Valley, following the murders.

The Omar government has said that the suspended police officials will be interrogated by the special investigation team. The officials will also be interrogated for destruction of evidence.

The government has further said that mobile phone calls in the case will be traced and even Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel will be interrogated.

The Shopian murder case has snowballed into a major controversy.

On Friday Union Home Minister P Chidambaram, speaking to NDTV, said he had a message for J&K Chief Minister - handle the unrest in Kashmir politically and swiftly.

He said the response to the strife in the Valley has to be political.
