Salman Khurshid may meet Pakistan Foreign Minister in Kyrgyzstan on Friday
New Delhi: Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid may meet his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz on Friday in Kyrgyzstan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meet.

Sources have told NDTV that India will take a final call on foreign ministers meeting shortly.

The meeting on Friday has been sought by Pakistan. It is expected to lay the groundwork for a possible meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif later this month in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. There has been much uncertainty about whether the two leaders would meet, after five Indian soldiers were killed in Kashmir along the Line of Control or LoC in an attack linked to the Pakistani army.

Sources say Pakistan Envoy Salman Bashir also met senior Indian officials in Delhi today including the National Security Advisor.

Talks between India and Pakistan have been on hold since the beheading of Indian soldiers at the beginning of the year and more recently, the deaths of five Indian soldiers at the Line of Control.
