Rain, Snowfall Likely in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar: Rain and snowfall is expected across Jammu and Kashmir over the next two days, the weather office said today.

"Light to moderate rain and snowfall is expected across the state beginning tomorrow afternoon," an official of the weather office here told IANS.

Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 2.4 degrees Celsius today.

"Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minimum temperatures of minus 3.8 degree Celsius and minus 5.4 degree Celsius respectively," the official said.

The minimum temperature in Kargil town was minus 14.6 degrees, while it was minus 15.5 degrees in neighboring Leh town.

In the Jammu region, Banihal town shivered in 4 degrees Celsius while Batote recorded 4.7 degrees, and Bhaderwah 0.6 degree Celsius.

"Jammu city recorded 6.7 as the minimum temperature," the weather official said.
