Prime Minister Narendra Modi Meets BJP General Secretaries

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met BJP general secretaries at his residence today, reportedly to discuss organizational affairs of the party.

The meeting, that took place five days after he took charge of his office, is believed to be an attempt to ensure that the organizational strength of the BJP remains strong.

The Prime Minister had a stream of visitors on Friday including governors of four states and several cabinet ministers.

Among those who met him were Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and his Haryana and Manipur counterparts, Jagannath Pahadia and VK Duggal.

Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde, Steel Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju Pusapati and Minister of State (independent charge) for Power Piyush Goyal also met him.

The meetings were courtesy visits and took place in the South Block office of the prime minister, PMO officials said.
