Pak building bunkers on the border: BSF

New Delhi Pakistan has constructed several fortified bunkers and observation posts along the Indo-Pak border after the 26/11 Mumbai terror strike, the BSF said on Tuesday.

"Pakistan has been strengthening its defence infrastructure after 26/11. They have constructed fortified bunkers, observation posts along borderline, some of them highly objectionable," Special Director General Border Security Force UK Bansal told reporters on the sidelines of a  passing out parade at Subsidiary Training Centre(STC) BSF, Udhampur.

"We have raised objection with Pakistan counterparts several times, but nothing has been done in this direction," Bansal said adding, "We want these objectionable structure to be removed".

To a question that LeT is digging a tunnel from Sailkote side towards India, he said "Militants cannot be trusted. But if it so, we are ready to tackle any eventuality or such plan of ultras".

Bansal said that terrorist infrastructure was still intact and training camps were still running.

Referring to the Naxal menace and training of the various state police forces to deal with such problems, the BSF Special Director General said, "BSF is now training various state police forces. In this direction we have already trained police recruits of Bihar, MP and Orissa."

"At the STC Udhampur, we have already provided trainings to recruits of MP, Bihar and today 184 recruits of Orissa have passed out from here," he said.

The training has been made in such a way, so that these recruits can deal with Naxalism," he said adding that more such state police recruits would be trained here.
