Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's cavalcade rammed an auto rickshaw in east Bihar's Jamui town and killed three people today. All three victims were identified as local villagers.
Seven policemen were also injured in the mishap.
However, Mr Kumar was not in the cavalcade when the accident took place.
According to police, the convoy was returning after seeing off the Chief Minister at Jamui border when a police jeep hit an auto near Islamnagar under Chandradeep police station at around 7:30 pm.
Mr Kumar is holding rallies and public meetings across the state to demand special financial aid from the Centre.
