J&K: One BSF Jawan Killed In Ceasefire Violation
Jammu: One Border Security Force jawan was killed and three others were injured as Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing at Indian posts along the international border in Jammu district today.

The incident reportedly happened around 11.40 this morning. "Pakistan Rangers fired at Pital post of the BSF in Arnia sub-sector of the RS Pura sector," a police officer said.

The injured have been shifted to hospital.

Last month on June 13, in the first major ceasefire violation along the Line of Control since the new government came to power, Pakistani troops opened fire in the Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, small arms, rockets and mortar shells were fired.

Condemning the incident, Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh had said that "peace on the border is a pre-requisite for establishing normal relations."
