The BJP has alleged that the Centre is misusing the CBI to target Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in the Ishrat Jahan encounter case. Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman slammed the Congress, saying the party should stop playing politics with terrorism.

- All speaking in different voices on Ishrat case, especially in reference to what David Headley may or may not have said
- It is Digvijaya Singh who had earlier spoken about the twin power service in Congress, which did not do much for the country
- He also went and visited many terrorists
- He is asking for a clarification from the home ministry, BJP underlines that
- Home Ministry should clarify why was there a need to change the affidavit in 2009, what were the circumstances which led to the changing of the affidavit
- CBI today has almost come to be known as Congress Bureau of Investigation.
- Home Ministry will be questioned by people of India as to what is happening
- You are changing affidavits, you are not sure whether Headley said Ishrat was a fidayeen or not. Perhaps a paragraph what the NIA had submitted to the Home Ministry was removed.
- BJP demands Home Ministry must clarify these issues and come out clean on why affidavit was changed and what inputs has CBI got from them and if any paragraph submitted by the NIA was removed by the Home Ministry
- Congress party is misusing CBI to hit out at Gujarat Chief Minister Modi and then Home Minister Amit Shah
- Aam Aadmi is shedding tears because he is not able to buy basic vegetables due to soaring prices
- Innocence will have to be proved in the court, Congress party cannot decide that. Congress party should stop playing politics with terrorism
- There is a trust deficit among all the agencies probing Ishrat case
