Google Doodle Celebrates Kishore Kumar's 85th Birth Anniversary

New Delhi: The Google India homepage celebrates one of India's greatest film playback singers - Kishore Kumar - on his 85th birth anniversary today.

Born as Abhas Kumar Ganguly (4 August 1929 - 13 October 1987), he was also a  writer, composer, actor, director, scriptwriter and producer. The icons at the four corners of this doodle celebrate his many facets.

A multi-talented personality who could sing in more than seven languages, Kishore Kumar still holds the record for winning the most Filmfare Awards as the best male playback singer.

His eccentricity in voice and acting created extra-ordinary music like then infamous musical, comical duel between him and Sunil Dutt and Mehmood: "Ek Chatur Nar Karke Singarr".

Some of his best works as an actor and a composer includes movies like Chalti ka Naam Gaadi, Half Ticket, Padosan, Paying Guest and Guide and songs like "Maana Janaab Ne Pukara Nahin" from Paying Guest "Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke" from Nau Do Gyarah (1957), "Ai Meri Topi Palat Ke Aa" from Funtoosh, and "Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si" and "Haal Kaisa Hai Janaab Ka" from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi (1958). He won his first Filmfare award for 'Roop Tera Mastana".

Google salutes this Indian film industry legend and so do we!
