Four suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists arrested in Rajasthan

New Delhi: Four suspected Indian Mujahideen terrorists have been arrested in Rajasthan by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. One of them, in fact, is alleged to be a close aide of jailed Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal.

"Four terrorists have been arrested by us. One of them has been identified as Waqas," Special Commissioner (Special Cell) SM Srivastava told PTI.

Waqas, a Pakistani national, is one of the most wanted in connection with several blasts in the country, including the serial blasts in Mumbai on July 12, 2011 that 26 persons and injured around 130.

He was, in fact, identified by Bhatkal on CCTV footage as one who planted a bomb at Zaveri Bazar, one of the three sites where blasts occurred.

While Waqas was picked up in Jodhpur, the other three were arrested in Jaipur. Police recovered detonators and bomb material during these arrests.

The four are alleged to be members of the Rajasthan module of the banned terrorist group.
