Encounter on between Maoists and security forces in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district

Gadchiroli: An encounter is on between CRPF jawans and Maoists in Kaneri forest in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra.

The firing between the two sides began at around 7.30am and is still on, the police said.

Acting on a tip-off, that there was a Naxal hideout in the forest area, jawans of CRPF 192 battalion rushed to the site.

On seeing the forces, the ultras started firing at them and in retaliation police also opened fire.
