Erode:
The carcass of a 12-year-old elephant has been found in the Vilankombai forests near Gobichettipalayam in Erode, forest officials said on Thursday.
The officials said the elephant died due to electrocution after it came into contact with a live electric wire put up by a land owner to scare away wild animals.
A case has been registered against the owner for "illegally" taking electric connection to the fence, officials said.
