Don't Know Don Who Allegedly Threatened Wadias, Says Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta arrives to meet Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria on Monday

MUmbai: Actor Preity Zinta has been permitted by the Mumbai police to travel abroad. Last week, she flew to Mumbai from the US and spent two hours at the city's Wankhade Stadium, recounting how she was allegedly harassed at the venue on May 30 by former boyfriend Ness Wadia.

Ms Zinta, 39, has accused Mr Wadia, the scion of the Wadia conglomerate which has interests in real estate and textiles, of abusing and threatening her during a match played by the Indian Premier League cricket team they co-own, the Punjab Kings XI.

Mr Wadia, 44, has denied the charges. His family has been given police security after it alleged that an underworld don who identified himself as Ravi Pujari sent text messages and phone calls to Wadia Group employees warning that Ms Zinta should be left alone.

The actor, who visited Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria, has said that she does not know Ravi Pujari.

She reportedly today shared other details of how she was allegedly intimidated and pushed by Mr Wadia.

She has agreed to return to Mumbai at short notice if the police needs to question her again.

Police sources say that security cameras at the stadium did not record the alleged fight between Ms Zinta and Mr Wadia who ended a five-year relationship in 2009.
