Patna: Bihar's Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who has claimed that a temple was washed after he visited it because he is a Dalit, today attested, "I have never lied in my life."

His clarification came after two ministers in his cabinet challenged his version of events.

On Sunday Mr Manjhi, said that in August, a temple for Lord Shiva in the district of Madhubhani  in North Bihar was cleansed by priests after he stopped there to offer his prayers. But ministers Ram Lakhan Ram Raman and Nitish Mishra, who were present with him at the temple denied this yesterday to reporters.

The chief minister has today announced an inquiry will be conducted into his allegations by local administration officials in Madhubani.
