The Delhi High Court on Wednesday sought the response from the CBI on a petition filed by Buta Singh, Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes, in connection with a bribery case involving his son.
Buta is trying to prevent the CBI from questioning him. He has accused the CBI of illegally summoning him for interrogation.
The former Bihar governor says he holds a post equivalent to a Cabinet rank and so the CBI cannot question him without the Centre's permission. The court after hearing his petition issued a notice to CBI and asked for a response by Monday.
