Jammu:
A bus carrying 50 people of a marriage party fell into an overflowing stream in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir around 2 this afternoon.
Reports as of now say at least six people have survived the accident; many passengers are feared dead.
A message posted on Twitter by Home Minister Rajnath Singh's office said National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams have been dispatched to the site to help with search and rescue operation.
Most rivers in the state are flowing above danger mark due to incessant rains. A flood alert has been declared across the state.
The situation is particularly grim in south Kashmir. Poonch, Rajouri and Reasi - on the Jammu side - and Kulgam and Shopian - both in the valley - have been receiving heavy rain.
