BJP: The divide within worsens

New Delhi:

After their disastrous performance in the Lok Sabha elections, the rift within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) appears to be widening.

Sources have told NDTV that Darjeeling MP and senior party leader Jaswant Singh is the latest to join the chorus of questioning voices within the party.

He has questioned how the party is being run. The BJP core group met on Wednesday to discuss the party's reversals in the Lok Sabha elections and there seems to be a growing divide in the core group over the party's functioning.

Speaking to mediapersons about the meeting, BJP president Jaswant Singh said, "It was BJP's core group meeting. Everything was discussed, we also analysed the party's defeat."

However, when asked about the reports of Jaswant Singh being angry, the party president termed them as baseless.
