The Sunni Central Waqf Board has filed a petition in the Supreme Court today challenging the Allahabad High Court judgment in the Babri Masjid title suit.
Advocate Zafaryab Jilani, who is appearing for the board, said the petition argues that the High Court verdict is based on faith rather than documentary evidence on where Lord Ram was born.
The petition also argues that the verdict violates Articles 25 and 26 which gives equal rights to all faith. The appeal has the endorsement of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
The Waqf Board is one of the original litigants in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suits.
On September 30, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court pronounced its judgment in the Ayodhya title suit, saying Hindus and Muslims are joint title holders.

Each of the three judges gave a summary of his own.
