Hyderabad: 35 crores in cash were found at the Chennai residence of actor-politician Chiranjeevi's daughter, Sushmita.
The Income Tax department raided the house on Friday and Saturday. Today, officials confirmed that "cash was found neatly packed in 35 carton boxes with each containing Rs. 1 crore in denominations of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000." (

Sushmita is married to Vishnu Prasad, who along with his father, Shiv Prasad, owns a large real estate business along with others.
The money has been handed over to the Reserve Bank of India today.
Chiranjeevi is a Rajya Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh. He dismissed reports that linked him to the raids, describing them as "politically motivated."
"I am also a recipient of the Samman Award given to meritorious tax payers by the Income Tax Department," he said.
