3 Die of Swine Flu in Hyderabad, 8 More in Hospital
Three persons, including a woman, died of swine flu in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The woman, 25, died just after giving birth at Hyderabad's Gandhi hospital. A 42-year-old man brought in a serious condition died in the same hospital. Both were from the Ranga Reddy district. A third person, who was taken to two hospitals, reportedly died last night.

10 cases have been reported in the last 10 days. At least 8 more patients are reportedly being treated for swine flu at the Hyderabad hospital. This year, 53 cases have been reported.

The Centre for Disease Control, Atlanta, had warned that the virus could be more deadly this season as the weather grows colder. Dr Subhakar, a specialist in swine flu, says people should be cautious as low temperatures favour the virus. Doctors recommend a balanced diet, enough sleep and fluid and fruits.

''The only reassurance is that there is no mutation in the virus. It is more virulent but vaccine is available,'' says Dr Subhakar.
