London: Pregnant model Miranda Kerr has thrown her weight behind an anti-suicide helpline for the youth after witnessing one such tragedy in her family.

The 27-year-old model is backing Australia's 'Too Many, Too Soon' initiative which would provide counselling to disenchanted young people with suicidal thoughts, Contactmusic reported.

"The sadness of losing someone, especially in these circumstances, is something we live with and continually question how it could have been prevented," Kerr says.

The star has seen the devastating impact of taking one's life up close after one of her relatives committed suicide in 2009.

The Australian beauty is expecting a baby with husband Orlando Bloom in 2011.
