Los Angeles: Oscar winning actor Ben
Kingsley is reportedly in final talks to play a villain in
forthcoming superhero movie
Iron Man 3.
The
Hugo star is in final negotiations to star in the
Marvel Blockbuster as an enemy of Iron Man, which is played by
Robert Downey Jr, Variety reported.
Though the exact details of the character are being kept
under wraps, the villain is expected to be involved in
spreading a virus through nanobots because the film is
believed to be loosely based on the 2005
Extremis comicbook
series.
Jon Favreau, who directed the first two films in the
franchise, had previously expressed interest in exploring the
character, but he has moved on from the series, with Shane
Black at the helm of
Iron Man 3.
Black is also co-writing the script with Drew Pearce.
Kingsley will next be seen in Paramount's
The Dictator
with Sacha Baron Cohen.
