Repolling in Rajasthan sees 81.05 per cent turnout

Barmer's booth number 171 recorded a voter turnout of 98.86 percent

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Repolling at three booths in Barmer and one in Churu Lok Sabha constituency recorded an average of 81.05 per cent turnout. The repoll was ordered by the Election Commission at four booths following some technical problem in electronic voting machines during the first phase polling on April 17.

Barmer's booth number 171 recorded a voter turnout of 98.86 percent, while booth number 226 and booth number 96 recorded 75.61 percent and 97.12 percent respectively, a Chief Electoral Officer's spokesman said.

Whereas turnout at booth number 92 of Churu was 68.94 percent at the closing time of 6 PM.

The polling in the first phase for the state's 20 out of 25 constituencies was held on April 17, while remaining five seats will go to the polls on April 24.
