Narendra Modi Has Declared Himself Prime Minister: Sonia Gandhi
Faizabad: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today tore into Narendra Modi saying he was behaving as if he is already the country's prime minister.

"Modi gives an impression that the results are out and he is sitting on the throne," Mrs Gandhi said, addressing a rally in Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh.

"He wants all wealth in one hand. He is high on power and he has forgotten that people will decide the fate of the nation and not him."

Both leaders have been exchanging sharp words while campaigning for the national election that ends on May 12. (Also Read: Modi Accuses Sonia of 'Open Communalism')

Amid predictions that the BJP will post its best ever performance under Mr Modi, Sonia Gandhi , her son Rahul, the Congress vice president, and daughter Priyanka have challenged his credentials for the top post and alleged that his ideology will destroy the country.

Recently, Mr Modi, 63, alleged that Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul were competing with each other "to tell lies". The BJP's prime ministerial candidate has been targeting the Gandhis over controversial land deals involving Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi's husband. His party has dubbed it the "Damad (son-in-law) Shree" scam. (read: BJP's Sharpest Attack on Robert Vadra)

Mr Vadra has been accused of scoring sweetheart deals in states ruled by the Congress, like Haryana. On Monday, the BJP released a video and a booklet on his alleged land deals terming it the "Robert Vadra model of development". (Also Read: Heard About 2G, Now We Hear About jijaji: Modi)
