Chandigarh: The Election Commission today ordered re-polling in eight polling stations falling under four different Assembly segments in the Gurgaon parliamentary constituency.

Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Shrikant Walgad said that polling at these stations would be held on May 15 from 7 am to 6 pm.

Mr Walgad said the stations on which re-polling would be held, included 126 - Government Primary School, Bawala (left room) in Sohna Assembly Segment, 44 - Government Middle School, Rehna (left room), 46 - Government Primary School, Tapkan and 103 - Government Primary School.

Other polling stations are Majra Bhandgaka in Nuh Assembly Segment, 34 - Government Middle School, Banarashi, 101 - Government High School, Nimkhera and 166 - Government Primary School, Shahpur in Firozpur Jhirka Assembly Segment and 90 - Government Middle School, Thek in Punhana Assembly segment, he said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had yesterday asked the Election Commission to conduct re-polling at a few booths in Gurgaon, alleging vote rigging.

In a letter to Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath, AAP's Gurgaon candidate Yogendra Yadav, had submitted a "scientific analysis" of the polling station-wise turnout data which established that there was a cluster of booths "that recorded abnormally high turnout, upwards of 90 per cent or even 95 per cent," the party said.
