Jammu: Activists of the Youth Congress in Jammu today clashed with police as they held protest demonstration against the ceasefire violations from Pakistan along the International Border (IB) in the state.

The activists who organised a "Yuva Garjana Rally" in Jammu were carrying banners and posters while chanting slogans against Pakistan.

"At Tawi Bridge here Youth activists were intercepted by police and resorted to cane charging in which several youths were injured," said a statement issued by the Youth Congress.

However, the police has refuted the allegation that it resorted to cane-charging.

"There was no cane charging, however, as activists tried to block the main Tawi Brigde, the police has to push them to clear the road," SSP, Jammu, Uttam Chand told PTI.
