Woman allegedly groped in candlelight vigil in Mumbai

Mumbai: A young woman was allegedly groped by a man at a candlelight vigil on Saturday in Mumbai that was held to mourn the death of the 23-year-old medical student, who was gang-raped by a group of men in a moving bus on December 16.

According to reports, the accused was caught by the crowd after the incident. He was later handed over to the cops at a police station. However, he reportedly managed to escape. The police have sent two teams to look for the accused.

The police have also launched an first information report (FIR) in the case.

On Saturday morning, Amanat (NOT her real name) died in a hospital in Singapore where she was flown with her family and a team of doctors three nights ago. Protest rallies and candlelight vigils were held throughout the day to pay tribute to the girl.
