Uttar Pradesh government directs timely completion of Kumbh related works

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Javed Usmani today directed the departments concerned to complete all works related to Kumbh within the stipulated time period and ensure quality.

While reviewing 2013 works related to the Kumbh mela, he directed principal secretaries and secretaries to inspect and review works of their concerned departments being done in Allahabad.

Asking for an encroachment free Allahabad before the Kumbh, he said drives be carried out at regular intervals and a scheme be chalked out for rehabilitation of the affected people.

He also ordered that repair works and construction of roads be completed by December 15.

To provide better facilities to the pilgrims, a proposal of Rs 31 crore has been prepared by the tourism department, Mr Usmani also said.
