In a brazen attempt, around 20 armed youths raided a toll plaza on the Gurgaon-Alwar state highway and looted Rs one lakh while injuring three attendees by opening fire on them, police said Saturday.
The incident took place Friday evening and was captured on CCTV, they said.
The attackers also damaged private vehicles of commuters present at the toll plaza at that time.
Ateet Kumar, who was one of the toll plaza employees fired on, received bullet injuries, but is out of danger. An FIR has been lodged against unknown persons and investigations started in the case. No formal arrest has been made till now, police said.
It is suspected that the attackers belong to a particular village and they might have taken the step as some of them were recently sacked and replaced by youths of another village.
