New Delhi:
Hundreds of passengers were stranded at the Delhi airport on Saturday morning after some flights of national carrier Air India or AI were delayed, reportedly due to a network glitch.
AI's flights to Hyderabad, Chennai, Varanasi, Imphal, Guwahati and Ranchi were reportedly delayed.
AI officials said the delay was due to a network system crash, due to which they had to carry out check-in and baggage transfer formalities manually.
Most passengers didn't seem to know the cause of the delay. Terminal 3, from where AI flights usually take off, is a 'silent' airport; public announcements are rarely made.
The system crashed at approximately 7.30 am and was reportedly restored nearly three hours later.
