Mumbai: Police today claimed to have arrested the person who stole electronic gadgets from Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla's house.
    
According to police, Juhi and her husband Jai Mehta had hosted a party at their south Mumbai residence at Veer Bhavan on January 15.
    
Among others, an American had also attended the party.
    
Around 40 people were hired as caterers and housekeeping staff in the party.
    
"The American guest, one Chulie, was allotted two servants and the key of Chulie's room was only with her and
her servants," said senior inspector Vinay Bagade of the Malabar Hill Police station.
    
A complaint was lodged saying that a laptop, a mobile phone and an iPod of Chulie were missing, he said.
    
"After the theft was reported, we asked the contractor who organised the party to provide the list of the 40 people who were hired and later we zeroed in on the accused Sandeep Balerao (28) with his help," Bagade said, adding that all the missing gadgets have been recovered.
    
"Balerao said that he committed to the crime since he had to pay some dues," the officer said.
    
Balerao has been remanded in police custody till February.
