Hyderabad: The city police have clamped a ban on employing women at massage centres that provide services to male customers.
The ban would also be applicable for men though police have so far not found men doing massage to female customers in the city, Police Commissioner A K Khan told reporters on Tuesday.
"The ban shall be imposed from July 1 and massage centres should not employ women for doing massage to male customers and vice-versa," he said.
The order also covers massage centres at star hotels in the state capital, Khan said.
House owners allowing their premises to be used for flesh trade will face strict action, he warned. "Such premises will be sealed."
Of late massage centres had become a hub of illegal and indecent activities in the city, he said.
Police had recently arrested 50 persons, including 31 female workers, for allegedly indulging in indecent, obscene and illegal activity in the name of massage.
