Mumbai weather: Cold spell in city continues

email

Mumbai: Mumbai continues to shiver as the unexpected cold spell the city is experiencing refuses to subside. The city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.6 degrees Celsius this morning, which is five degrees below normal for the month of February.

Mumbai has been experiencing its coldest temperatures in the past four years and the residents of the city are surprised at the unexpected chill in February.

Yesterday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius, seven degrees below normal for the month.

The reason behind the sudden plunge in the mercury is the sudden snowfall in the Himalayan regions, which includes Shimla, Manali, etc. The cold north-westerly winds blowing from these regions have also affected Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The cold wave, which is expected to continue for the next 24 hours, has affected other regions in Maharashtra as well.

Meanwhile, the minimum temperature recorded in Delhi was 6.4 degrees Celsius, three degree below what is normal for February.
