Mumbai:  She's an MP from Mumbai but Priya Dutt, daughter of actor-politician Sunil Dutt, may not be able to vote in the city's civic elections, scheduled for February 16.

The list of voters for her constituency shows a photograph of a woman named Ratna Gupta's against Ms Dutt's name (there's a mistake in that too, her last name is listed as "Datt"). She told NDTV this evening that she will try to have the record corrected so that she can vote.  

Ms Dutt represents the Congress from North Central Mumbai.  

Her sister-in-law Maanyata, who is married to actor Sanjay Dutt, has also been paired with an incorrect photograph. Her photo has been switched with one Shivani Gupta.

What's even more baffling is a mistake in the gender of Chand Goel, the Additional Chief Secretary and second in command at the State Election Commission - a man, Mr Goel is now registered as a woman.

State Election Commissioner Neela Satyanarayan said, "We kept our offices open for appropriate changes to be done, before the voters list was finally released on January 5."

With over one lakh such errors, what's worrying voters, is the possibility that they will be ineligible to vote.
