Mumbai: If you are travelling to or from Mumbai, bring a book. Delays are expected starting tomorrow because the international airport's main runway is being closed from 9 am to 5 pm for the next four months.

A new exit taxiway to provide a path from the runway to the hangar needs to be constructed. This will lessen the runway occupancy time and facilitate more landings and take-offs.

The airport has a second runway that will be used during the day, but because it is shorter, a backlog is likely to build up.

Combined with the bad weather in the North, passengers may find they're waiting for flights.
