Man arrested for allegedly raping sister-in-law at knife point

New Delhi: A man was arrested for allegedly twice raping his 23-year-old sister-in-law at knife point at their house here, police said on Friday.

"The incident was reported on Wednesday after the victim, resident of Mansarovar Park in east Delhi, approached her parents and told them about the incident. The accused Saurav Kumar was arrested the same day," said a police officer.

Citing the victim, police said that the accused - her husband's elder brother - raped her twice late last year when other members of the family were out.

The victim then approached her mother-in-law and her husband but both threatened here of dire consequences if she told anyone, saying the family's pride would be sullied.

The victim finally narrated the traumatic incident to her mother on Monday in Karawal Nagar area where the case has been registered.
