Hunt on for man who raped minor and filmed it

Panaji: The police in Panaji are on the lookout for a 22-year-old man who, with an accomplice, is accused of raping a minor girl twice and also recording it on a mobile phone.

A 16-year-old college girl complained to police that a man named Savio and his friend Zehar had raped her after taking her to a toilet of a multiplex on Thursday. They later took her to an isolated area and raped her again.

Savio has since been untraceable and on the run.

"The girl had been taken for medical examination, and rape was confirmed," police inspector Sudesh Naik told reporters in Panaji on Friday.

Zehar was arrested late on Thursday night, he said.

The official said that the duo lured the girl to the multiplex to see a film, and then they took her to a toilet and committed the rape and filmed it.

The victim later told her parents about the incidents.

The parents contacted a women's rights group, which assisted them in registering the case at Margao police station.
