Help pours in for Tejas

Help pours in for Tejas
Panipat: 'Hello Mummy I am fine, do whatever these people tell you to do and also do not inform police' this is what Tejas said in a video recording after he was kidnapped two years ago.

Two years later, his parents are still waiting for their son. Though there is no direct contact between them, Tejas' mother often reads out poems to him. She keeps his books and his things in good shape, and fondly looking at his pictures she tries to imagine how Tejas would look now, almost after two years.

Eight-year-old Tejas Gaba was kidnapped from Panipat in Dec 2008 while he was being driven to school by his mother. Two days later, a video was sent to the family asking for Rs 10 crore as ransom.

The kidnappers were in touch with the family for three months  but since March 2009 there has been no word about Tejas. His parents made an appeal through NDTV for any information about their child, and the overwhelming response and support from viewers has provided them with some relief.

" There has been a tremendous response from people ....people from all over the world are writing to us and calling me....thousands of hits on the website....I am thankful to NDTV as well....they are instrumental....I am sure it has become a movement....now people know about it," said Rajesh Gaba, Father .

The family says they are willing to forgive the culprits if they send back Tejas home safely

" I am really hoping that somebody will give us some information.....we have also shown Tejas' picture.......I hope this will happen now," said Neena Gaba, Mother.

The case was handed over to the CBI last month after Haryana police made no headway. The family has also online to seek more information.  Two websites, www.Tejasgaba.com and savetejas.com, have been launched to gather more information about Tejas. Police have also released a CCTV footage of the suspect.

With support pouring in from all corners, the Gaba family is flooded with mails and calls from thousands. But what they are eagerly waiting for is that one phone call that would probably lead them to their son, Tejas.

The heart rendering story of eight-year-old Tejas Gabba who was kidnapped two years ago captured many minds. His parents made an appeal through NDTV for any information about their child and the overwhelming response and support from viewers has given the distressed parents some relief.
