Gurgaon: The Gurgaon Police on Saturday gifted helmets to two-wheeler riders and pillion riders who were driving without wearing one, and pens and flowers to people who followed traffic rules.

Traffic constable Rajesh Kumar, who is 7 feet 6 inches tall, was the major attraction during the 'Joy of Giving' event held at the Kherki Daula toll plaza on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway as part of the road safety month.

"Two-wheeler riders without helmets were gifted helmets while car drivers wearing seat belts were given roses. People following traffic rules like stopping before the zebra crossing and driving on proper lanes were gifted pens," a police officer said.

Over 200 helmets, 500 pens and hundreds of flowers were distributed by the traffic police who launched the three-day event on January 1.
