New Delhi: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly brutally beaten up by four persons after she resisted a gang-rape attempt. The incident was reported from Aman Vihar area, outer Delhi. Police said that they have apprehended a juvenile, while a hunt is on to nab the other accused.

"Priya (name changed) had gone to fetch vegetables from the market. She was returning home thorough a park when she was assaulted. Finding her alone, they tried to rape her and brutally beat her up when she resisted.

The victim fell unconscious after she was inflicted with burn wounds with a cigarette," police said. Passersby informed her parents, who took her to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Police said an FIR has been registered.
