Gang allegedly plotting to commit dacoity near Bangalore arrested

Bangalore: Five persons were arrested while they were allegedly hatching a plan to commit dacoity near Bangalore last month, police said today.

They were arrested on July 25, police said.

Police said during interrogation, they said on July 22 night they had waylaid a truck near Chennapatna and attacked the driver and cleaner and whisked them away in their car, police said, adding, the victims were later left at Maddur.

Thereafter they drove away with the truck laden with 50 tons of iron worth Rs 61 lakh, police said. The vehicle along with iron and weapons have been seized,they said.
