Fake Indian currency worth Rs 1.99 lakh seized from Amritsar

Amritsar: BSF today seized fake Indian currency notes (FICN) with a face value of Rs 1.99 lakh Daoke village near Indo-Pak border near Amritsar.

On specific information, a search operation was carried out and 398 FICN in the denomination of Rs 500 were seized, a BSF official said.

Sixty-four fake currency notes were found hidden under the bricks and 334 notes from donation box of Pir Baba which is situated ahead of Border Security fence.

In 2013, BSF has seized Rs 52.04 lakh FICN near the border area of the state.
