Delhi's third Dilli Haat planned in west Delhi

New Delhi: The capital will soon get its third Dilli Haat - food and crafts bazaar - with the Delhi government on Tuesday giving its nod to eight development and welfare projects involving an investment of Rs 257 crore.

"A total of Rs 81.44 crore has been sanctioned for the third Delhi Haat in the city at Janakpuri in west Delhi. It will be the greenest Dilli Haat and become a cultural and crafts nerve centre by August 2013," Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said.

The Delhi government approved three projects of the public works department, two relating to the transport department and one each relating to higher education, education and tourism departments, a statement said.

The Janakpuri Dilli Haat would have ample parking space. "Delhi Tourism has prepared a plan for development of Dilli Haat in pocket A with an anticipated cost of Rs 81.44 crore," Ms Dikshit said.

The city already has two Dilli Haats, one each at INA in south Delhi and Pitampura in north Delhi.
