Delhi protests: nine Metro stations reopen
New Delhi: After being shut for three days in the wake of protests over the gang-rape incident, all nine Metro stations in Central Delhi were opened for public this evening.

Rajiv Chowk, the busiest station that sees a footfall of five lakhs per day, Barakhamba Road, Pragati Maidan, Mandi House and Khan Market, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Udyog Bhawan and Race Course stations were opened for traffic in phases.

All the nine stations, except Rajiv Chowk, had closed their doors for public since Sunday after Delhi Police asked the Delhi Metro to shut down operations in these stations.

While Rajiv Chowk was open on Sunday, it remained shut yesterday and today.

The Metro stations were shut to prevent protesters from reaching India Gate.
