New Delhi: Metro services were disrupted on the Noida-Dwarka line for 11 minutes on Monday when a mentally challenged man jumped on to a track and started walking, an official said.

The incident was reported from Shadipur metro station at around 9 a.m.

Suraj Bhan, a 41-year-old resident of Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, was caught by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and handed over to the police.

"When the CISF officials tried to stop Suraj Bhan from walking on the track, he started running. An alarm was raised and the running of metro trains on the particular track was stopped till the man was apprehended," said a CISF official.

"Metro services on the track were disrupted for 11 minutes between 9.03 a.m. and 9.14 a.m.," Delhi Metro spokesperson Anuj Dayal told IANS.
