Pune:
In a shocking incident, a Class 9 student of a municipal school in Pimpri near Pune died today after hitting his head against a bench following an altercation with a classmate.
The 15-year-old boy, Rishikesh Sarode, a student of Pimpri Chhinchwad municipal school had loaned Rs 15 to his classmate for a project work.
His friend had returned Rs 10. On Monday afternoon, when the school started, Rishikesh demanded the balance Rs 5 from his friend which led to an altercation between them in the classroom around 12.15 pm.
After allegedly being pushed by his friend, Rishikesh hit his head against the bench and fell unconscious. He was rushed to the PMC hospital in Pimpri where the doctors declared him dead.
The police has taken his friend into custody as a juvenile criminal and filed a case against him under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.
